Step One - ASSESSMENT

The assessment phase begins with an evaluation of the individual’s residual abilities, including:

  • Fine Motor Coordination
  • Range of Motion
  • Vision
  • Memory
  • Cognitive Skills
  • Goals and Requirements

Based on the evaluation results, “candidate” equipment is selected and tested to assure an appropriate “fit” .

Step Two – EQUIPMENT PROCUREMENT

With the approval of the appropriate funding source, the appropriate hardware, software, and accessory components are procured and tested to ensure proper integration. In some cases, specialized modifications are made to existing products. In others, product development may be required.

Step Three – SETUP AND TRAINING

Once the equipment has been purchased, tested and, if needed, modified for the individual, it is installed in the individual’s home, workplace, or school, and our one-on-one training sessions begin.

Step Four – FOLLOW-UP

Our staff follows up 3 – 6 months after the last training session to assure the devices are being used appropriately, and to assess whether additional training, accessories or modifications are needed.
